Reviewing and modifying job instructions for employees


You can review instructions for any job in an employee’s personal job list, whether they were entered by you or another approver, or modified by the employee if your administrator's settings allow this. You can enter new instructions for a job, or you can change or append instructions entered by another approver or by the employee.

In the steps that follow, we assume that you have already logged in to e-timecard and accessed the approval view. Depending on which screen you access the job instructions from, you must also have done one of the following: retrieved the employee's personal job list; opened the View Summary screen for review; or opened the Time Card screen for review.

To review and modify job instructions for employees

  1. Do one of the following to access the job instructions.

The Job Instructions (user-defined label) screen appears.

  1. Review the text in the Job Instructions (user-defined label) field. You can also review other information for the job, such as a detailed description and the org9.

    If you do not wish to modify the instructions, click Cancel and skip the following two steps.

  2. In the Job Instructions field, enter a description of the task, the estimated number of hours it will take to complete, or whatever text you choose.

  3. Click OK. The previous screen reappears.

  4. Repeat these steps to review or modify instructions for a different job.
