What you will learn about time card management


In previous topics, you’ve learned how to set up all the files necessary to run e-timecard, and how to import and export data between e-timecard and other products. Now you will find out how to use what you’ve learned on a regular basis as you continue to process the data that employees enter in e-timecard.

Standard processing cycles in e-timecard vary depending on whether you are integrated with JAMIS or a third-party product. Regardless of which procedure you follow, the timing is determined by when your labor distribution, payroll, and job cost systems need to be updated.

You must run most of the steps at specific points in the processing cycle. The exception is opening new time card periods, which you can do at any point that is best suited to your schedule, as long as you make sure that you do it before the new period begins.
