JAMIS e-timecard and e-xpense have an attachments feature for time cards, pre-authorization requests, and expense reports. If your company enables attachments, then any employee can attach and manage files for his/her own time cards, requests, and reports, and any approver or group time/expense keeper can attach and manage files for the time cards, requests, and reports under his/her authority.
Some typical uses for attachments are for an employee to scan paid time off forms or receipts for expenses incurred, then attach the scanned images. The approver can then view the documents and receipts directly from e-timecard or e-xpense.
Those are, however, just some examples of how you can use attachments. You can attach any document to a time card, request, or report that is in one of the following formats: .gif, .jpeg, .pdf, and .doc.
Caution: If the file extension does not match one of those listed above, then the system will treat it as application/text, which may make the document unretrievable.
The program stores the attachment file name in the database, but it cannot store any more than 30 characters. You can attach files with longer names, but the system will truncate the name while preserving the extension.
Note that there is a limit to the size of a file that you attach. The default size limit is 4MB, although your system administrator may define a smaller or larger limit.
