Using jobs in e-timecard
Employees charge every labor entry in e-timecard to a job, cost element, and earning code. You set error handling options for these codes on the e-timecard Initialization screen, Main tab and Time Card Setup tab. Keep the following in mind.
If you set e-timecard to generate a hard error for jobs, then the job must exist in the job master before an employee can use it on a time card.
If you set e-timecard to generate a soft error, then the employee can use an invalid job on a time card, but an error message appears. The employee can choose to override the error message and charge to the invalid job.
If you select no validation, then e-timecard does not check the job master during time card entry to see if the job is valid.
Also, in the employee type you set whether employees can enter only jobs from their personal job list or if they can select from the company job master, as well as whether they can manually enter jobs.
