What is a contract labor category?
You can use contract labor categories as alternatives to cost elements. Here are some situations where you might find labor categories useful:
when contracts require an employee or an element of labor to be invoiced under a title or category rather than your pre-defined, standard company cost elements
for direct, contract-related expenses when the contract calls for specific labor invoicing set by the customer
for creating billing rates
for revenue recognition
for printing descriptions or sorting when you run reports
Note: Contract labor categories do not replace cost elements when you record or post to JAMIS.
You maintain labor categories in a series of category tables. The same labor category cannot exist in more than one table.
