Using multiple time card schedules

There can be multiple pay frequencies within one company. For instance, office staff may be paid semi-monthly while union employees are paid weekly. To handle a situation where pay frequency or work week schedules vary, you can establish multiple time card schedules, time card profiles, and employee types. Link the time card schedule to the appropriate time card profile, then enter the profile code in the employee type file.

Schedules are user-defined, so you can fix both the date to begin creating time card periods and the standard hours in a period. You specify the number of pay periods for each schedule; you should base your choice solely on the amount of storage space accessible on your server.

Example

Our demo company creates two time card schedules called UN and OFC. They create time card periods for the first 26 weeks of 2008.

Before week 27, they can generate another series of time cards using the same schedule codes. The e-timecard administrator does this by entering a different pay period start date.

Note: Pay period start dates cannot overlap unless you set the Time Card Frequency field to 8 Days Week.
