Using multiple holiday schedules
If your company uses multiple holiday schedules, then you must create a holiday schedule code for each schedule.
Example 1
Our demo company is headquartered in the U.S. but has operations in Canada and Mexico. While the company holidays are the same for Christmas and New Year’s Day, the other holidays vary based on the standard holidays for the country where the operations reside.
The solution is to create, at minimum, three holiday schedule codes, one for each country.
Example 2
Our demo company has part-time employees who receive some benefits, including a half day of holiday for each of the standard company holidays. As the e-timecard administrator, you would do the following to set up a holiday schedule.
On the Earning Codes screen, create a payroll earning code for part-time holidays called PTHO.
On the Holiday Schedules screen, create a part-time holiday schedule called PT and make the following settings.
Enter PTHO in the Earning Code (user-defined label) field.
Enter the same holiday dates that you did for the standard holiday schedule, but enter only half as many hours.
