Using contract labor categories with e-timecard
Your company’s requirements determine how e-timecard uses contract labor categories. The table below describes the settings that you make throughout the application to configure labor categories.
Contract labor category setting... |
For more information, see... |
On the e-timecard Initialization screen, Time Card Setup tab, you set these time card defaults for contract labor categories:
On the Org9 Setup screen, you set whether e-timecard validates contract labor categories on time cards, or whether the employee can leave the field blank with an error message. If a conflict exists, your setting here overrides your setting in the Initialization file. |
On the Parameter Setup screen, you set where you want the contract labor category to default from on time cards: the personal job list, contract labor category mapping, or no default. You also indicate whether e-timecard validates the labor category code only or both the code and its mapping information. Keep in mind that if you want labor categories to default from labor category mapping, you must map employees or cost elements to labor categories. |
On the Company Setup screen, you define an unallowable labor category that the program uses when employees are not mapped to labor categories, or when you do not validate labor categories. You do not create this unallowable category under a table on the Labor Categories screen. |
On the Job Master screen, you can attach a labor category table to a job. |
