Importing individual files overview

You can import individual files to correct a specific file where it may not be necessary to re-import all of the master files. This is the only case where we recommend importing individual files.

You can also select the Verify option for an individual file to test the ASCII file. This lets you correct the file prior to importing it. You can run this test as many times as you want before you actually import all the master files.

Although it is possible to use the individual import if there are some files that you are not using and do not wish to import, or if you want to build some of the master files in e-timecard rather than importing them from your third-party product, we do not recommend using the individual import in these scenarios.

Instead, create empty ASCII files for the files that you will not be using or for the ones that you want to create manually in e-timecard. Rather than importing each individual file, run the option to import all files. The program creates the empty ASCII files with no data, but the import process runs smoothly.

If you do choose to import individual files, the order for import is critical.
