Generating time card periods automatically

You use the Generate Schedule screen to automatically create time card periods for a range of periods. For instance, you can create time periods for an entire year or for each quarter. The number of time card periods that you can generate depends on your system resources.

You may need to have a partial time card period to accommodate time cards during initial installation if the first period is a short week. To do this, include the first time card period as part of the schedule that you create below, then edit the first period when you split the time card period.

To generate time card periods automatically for a range of periods

If you already have the time card schedule for which you want to generate periods displayed, you can skip to step 4.

  1. From the JAMIS Administration home page > Daily Processes tab, under Management, click Time card schedules. Or, from the top of any JAMIS Administration screen, click Time Card Setup > Time Card Schedules. The Time Card Schedules screen appears, displaying any time card schedules that you have already set up.

  2. Find the time card schedule for which you want to generate periods. You may need to scroll. JAMIS displays the records in ascending order by time card schedule code. You can sort the list differently by clicking the appropriate column heading once or twice.

  3. Click Edit to the left of the time card schedule for which you want to generate periods. The Time Card Schedule Details screen appears.

  4. Click Generate Schedule. The Generate Schedule screen appears.

  5. Enter the Pay Period Start Date for the first pay period that you want to create. You can enter the date manually, or you can click html/calendar_arrow.gif to the right of the field to select a date from a calendar.

  6. Enter the number of standard hours for a time card period in the Time Card Period Standard Hours field.

  7. Enter the number of pay periods that you want to create in the Number of Pay Periods field.

  8. Click OK to generate the time card periods.

Caution: Once you create the first time card period, you cannot add another period before that record.
