Exporting to Payroll in JAMIS

When you run the export, the program creates a prascii file in the location that you set on the Export/Archive Time Card Data screen. The output file name defaults to what JAMIS expects: prascifi. If there is an existing prascifi in the same location, then the program overwrites it with the new data unless you choose the option to append.

You can set the output file name manually before you run the interface, and you can choose to use a name other than prascifi. Once you begin the import in JAMIS, however, the file name must be prascifi for the import to process correctly.

To see the layout of the JAMIS export file, go to the online JAMIS e-timecard table definitions.

Hint: On the Export/Archive Time Card Data screen, you can choose to create a new ASCII file, in which case the program overwrites the existing prascifi. Or, you can choose to append, so that the program adds the current data to the end of the existing prascifi. Keep in mind that appending can lead to a very large file.

In JAMIS, you can select to check for errors when you import the prascifi file. For this reason, e-timecard does not check for errors during the export to JAMIS.

See your JAMIS Financials documentation for instructions on running the ASCII import.

Note: If you export amended time cards to JAMIS and your company calculates effective rates, then the time cards must have zero net hour changes in order for JAMIS to process the amendments.
