Deleting employee earning codes

Unless you set up the employee earning code in error, we do not recommend that you delete the code. Instead, you can set the Date Through field to the current date or a prior period end date so that e-timecard will not accept additional charges. Even in cases where you created the record in error, you can change the status to inactive to eliminate any charges posted to the code.

In an instance where you must delete the code for the employee, follow the procedure below.

Hint: Deleting an earning code here does not delete it from e-timecard. It simply removes the code from the employee’s list of codes. As long as the code still exists under the Earning Codes screen, you can re-insert it into an employee’s codes at any time.

To delete an earning code from an employee’s list

  1. From the JAMIS Administration home page > Setup tab, under Master Files, click Employee earning codes. Or, from the top of any JAMIS Administration screen, click Master Files > Employee Earning Codes. The Employee Earning Codes (user-defined label) screen appears.

  2. In the Filters section, enter one or more search criteria for the employee earning code that you want to delete. Your filter choices are: employee ID, earning code, status, accrual balance checking.

    Hints:
You can enter partial information in a filter field, such as 1 to retrieve all earning codes for employees whose IDs begin with 1, or %1 to retrieve all earning codes for employees whose IDs contain the number 1. You can leave all filter fields blank to retrieve all employee earning codes.

  3. Click Retrieve to list employee earning code records that match the criteria you entered. The results appear in the bottom section of the screen.

  4. If needed, scroll to find the employee earning code that you want to delete. JAMIS displays the records in ascending order by employee ID. You can sort the list differently by clicking the appropriate column heading once or twice.

  5. Click Delete to the left of the employee earning code that you want to delete. A message asks you to confirm that you want to delete this employee earning code.

  6. Click OK to commit your deletion.

  7. Repeat the appropriate steps as needed to delete additional employee earning codes.
