Choosing the minimum hour interval

Some companies require their employees to enter hours in multiples of a specific, minimum interval. You can enter this value in the Minimum Hour Interval field. If you accept the 0 default, then employees can enter any number for hours, regardless of interval.

Your setting here also regulates your own settings in holiday schedules and time card profiles, and it affects the rounding that occurs in time card hour prorations if your company uses that feature.

Example

Our demo company sets the Minimum Hour Interval field to 0.25. Employees cannot enter an hour amount smaller than 0.25, and all their hour entries must be in multiples of 0.25.

Examples of valid entries are 3.25, 4.00, and 7.50. An example of an invalid entry is 2.10. If an employee makes an invalid entry, e-timecard rounds according to the minimum hour interval. In this example, the program would round down to 2.00.
