Changing reason codes


You cannot change reason codes and reason types, but you can modify the Description and Explanation Required fields.

To change a reason code

  1. From the JAMIS Administration home page > Setup tab, under Application Setup, click Reason codes. Or, from the top of any JAMIS Administration screen, click Application Setup > Reason Codes. The Reason Codes screen appears.

  2. In the Filters section, enter one or more search criteria for the reason code that you want to change. Your filter choices are: reason type, reason code, description, explanation required.

    Hints:
    You can enter partial information in a filter field, such as R to retrieve all reason codes that begin with R, or %R to retrieve all reason codes that contain the letter R. You can leave all filter fields blank to retrieve all reason codes.

  3. Click Retrieve to list reason code records that match the criteria you entered. The results appear in the bottom section of the screen.

  4. If needed, scroll to find the reason code that you want to change. JAMIS displays the records in ascending order by reason type. You can sort the list differently by clicking the appropriate column heading once or twice.

  5. Click Edit to the left of the reason code that you want to change. JAMIS makes the fields that you can change editable.

  6. Change data for the reason code as needed.

  7. Click Update to commit your changes to the reason code data.

  8. Repeat the appropriate steps as needed to change data for additional reason codes.

Note that while editing a reason code, if you haven’t clicked Update yet, you can click Cancel to undo any changes that you’ve made to the record.
